James has worked in elite sport, supporting multiple World and Olympic medallists. His work is grounded in the science of high performance mind-sets. A keynote speaker, programme designer, facilitator and coach; James has boundless energy and enthusiasm and is tireless in his mission to unlock people’s potential.
Over three Olympic Games and many World Championships, he played a key role in the leadership team responsible for successfully delivering highly ambitious medal targets. He helped three sports achieve gold medal success at the London Olympic Games and has represented his country over 20 times as part of the Great British White Water Rafting Team, winning multiple medals and being crowned World and European Champion in 2009.
Working with organisations such as Sky, Shell, BMW, Schneider Electric, Microsoft, Weetabix, Trainline, Coca Cola, Laing O’Rourke, Said Business School and UK Sport, he has helped to unlock capacity in hundreds of leaders and their teams. This has involved a broad range of work from designing, leading and delivering complex global change programmes to inspiring individuals to make profound performance leaps. In addition to his work with organisations, he continues to coach some of the world’s most outstanding athletes.
As part of DPA, he is closely involved in the organisation’s research with neuroscientists and performance psychologists to evolve the understanding of mind-set in challenging environments.
